Journey to the Heart of Parenting

Ekocentrum Loutí · Central Bohemia
In all its intensity, parenting often feels like the most demanding thing we'll ever do. Between the daily hustle, endless duties, and constant pressure from all sides—including from within—it's easy for the heart of parenting to get lost in a blur of daily tasks.
How can we view it more as a shared journey where we can be more authentically ourselves and closer to our children?
Our camp program for parents is built around developing four heroic skills that live within all of us—though they sometimes remain hidden under layers of fatigue, doubt, and daily hustle. These are kindness, courage, trust, and resilience. Skills that we will consciously cultivate and learn to rely on in everyday parenting.
Individual workshops, group gatherings, and quiet moments of reflection will return to these four skills from various angles. Each opens up a different part of the parenting journey, but they all ultimately lead to the same place: relationship—with ourselves, our children, and the people around us.
Four heroic skills
Kindness
Fuel for the Journey
Self-care isn't selfishness; it's the fuel that keeps the journey going. We will explore our own needs, healthy boundaries, self-compassion, and the ability to be kind not only to our children, but to ourselves as well.
Courage
Shedding the Heavy Armor
The courage to be ourselves, to say no, to ask for help, or to stand firm against outside disapproval. We will search for a path to authentic parenting that doesn't stem from others' expectations, but from what we truly believe in.
Trust
Open arms instead of control
Trust in ourselves as parents, as well as in our children and their own paths. We will explore when it's necessary to lead and when to loosen our grip, letting children experiment, make mistakes, and grow.
Resilience
Rising up and moving forward
Parenting isn't about never stumbling. It's about the ability to handle difficult emotions, conflicts, and our own mistakes, and to repeatedly find our way back to ourselves and our children.
Relationship
The destination and home of our journey
Kindness, courage, trust, and resilience ultimately meet in one place: relationship.
In a space where we can truly listen, be present together, laugh, repair what went wrong, and continually return to one another.
Because relationships are precisely where the world of the parent meets the world of the child.
Camp Program
Just as the parenting program develops four heroic skills—kindness, trust, courage, and resilience—children will discover them through their own camp-wide game, adventures, movement, and shared challenges.
The program for children aged 3 and up – from preschoolers to teens – runs simultaneously with the program for parents. For our youngest participants and their parents, we have also prepared a shared Baby Club this year.
The programme for parents is held in English. The children's program is bilingual (in Czech and English) and open to international families – children can speak English or Czech. To ensure children can fully participate in activities and communicate effortlessly with the mentors/guides, at least a basic knowledge of one of these languages is required. Knowledge of both languages is not necessary.
Part of the program is designed for parents and children together—because some things are best not just learned, but experienced together.
Older kids? Bring them along!
The camp isn't just for little ones. We're ready for older children too – including pre-teens and teens of lower secondary school age (approx. 11–15). Bring them with you!

For children:
The Hero's Journey
A camp-wide game that connects movement, story and cooperation, and in whose spirit the whole children's programme unfolds. The children set out on their own adventurous expedition, on which they'll discover, step by step, the four heroic skills – kindness, courage, trust and resilience. Each day brings new challenges, tasks and moments of sharing – so that the children take away not only experiences, but also the feeling that anyone can be a hero, in their own way.
Workshops
We're currently working on the programme for the camp. We'll publish the detailed schedule, facilitators and individual workshops here on the website as soon as they're ready. Registered families will be the first to hear.
